Basic Obedience Class: This is a 6-week fun basic class for beginners of any age.  Basic commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, walk nicely on leash and come when called are covered.  Create a loving bond with your dog while also establishing your leadership.  Class is limited to 7 dogs.  Personalized attention to each dog is priority.

Basic Plus Obedience Class / Canine Good Citizen preparation and test:

Prerequisite:  Puppy Kindergarten or Basic Obedience Class

This 6-week class is for dogs that have attended the Puppy or the Basic Obedience Class.  This class strengthens the control of basic commands and focuses on gaining more control around distractions.  Off-leash exercises, recalls from distractions and formal stays are also covered.

The class will also work on modifying behavior problems that could prevent your dog from passing the CGC test and earning the CGC title.  CGC test will be performed on the last day of class.

Puppy Play Groups: - Canceled temporarily.   For pups up to 5 months old.  Every Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.  Just bring your puppy's current vaccination record.  This supervised play group is drop-in style (no registration necessary) and is $5.00 per session.  



About Gentle Persuasions Dog Training LLC

Chris has been an active volunteer at local dog shelters since 2003.  She was an honors graduate of Animal Behavior College in 2004, when she established the Gentle Persuasions Dog Training business.   For several years Gentle Persuasions offered in-home training and behavior consultations.  In 2008 Chris expanded the business to include puppy classes as well as basic obedience classes in Danbury and New Milford, CT.

 Chris is a professional member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and in 2007 achieved the status of Certified Pet Dog Trainer.  This certification requires that she actively participate in continuing education to constantly update her knowledge and skills.

Chris is now happy to be a co-owner of "Unleashed! Doggie Daycare" in New Milford and will continue her training classes at the Unleashed! facility.  Unleashed! Doggie Daycare is located at 90 Danbury Road, New Milford, CT (behind Advance Auto).
