Here is a list of common problems that you may be encountering:
JUMPING - Does your dog seem a bit too enthusiastic to see you when you come home? You love your dog but hate the jumping? Of course he wants your attention, you've been gone all day, or maybe five minutes! He wants to say "WELCOME BACK! I've missed you!", but doesn't know of any polite way of telling you. I will show you how to teach your dog polite ways of greeting yourself and your guests.
LEASH PULLING - Do you take your dog for walks, or does your dog walk you? Does she lunge out the door with you flying behind? Wouldn't it be nice to have your pup walk nicely on her leash without pulling you in every direction? Dogs usually pull on the leash because pulling is getting them where they want to go. I can help you teach her that she will NOT GET there by pulling you along behind. She may get there by walking politely without pulling you.
STEALING FROM COUNTERS - Have you ever had a wonderful meal be STOLEN off the kitchen counter or the dinner table when you weren't looking, leaving your dog with a chubby tummy and yours growling? Dogs are in many ways
like children. If they can figure out a way to get that tasty treat, they will do it. In a gentle way, I will help you prevent
your dog from sneaking the treats.
INAPPROPRIATE TOYS - Does your puppy like to steal your socks/slippers or other objects and want you to play 'tag' with her to get them back? Isn't it such fun to have to chase your dog to get it back, and then put your foot into a cold, wet, slobbery slipper or chewed up shoe!
CHEWING FURNITURE - Does your pup like to chew on your furniture or expensive items? This is no laughing matter. Many dogs have lost their home because of it. Puppies teethe and need to chew. It is important that they are provided with appropriate toys to chew on.
HOUSE BREAKING - Does your puppy or dog have problems figuring out where the right place to go potty is? I can show you how to show him.
GUARDING - Does your dog growl or even snap when anyone goes near her food, toys, or treats? There are exercises that you can practice with your dog that will change her attitude about guarding her favorite things.
